Guild Ranks

As you improve your skillset, volunteer at larger and more prestigious public events, and gain the admiration of your fellow DMs, you will have the opportunity to gain levels within the Herald’s Guild organization. These levels are public recognition of your time, skill, and commitment to becoming the best DM you can be and of being an example to those around you. As a higher level DM, you will be looked upon by those around you as a source of rules information, a mentor for how to handle difficult situations, and a person whom the staff of a show can lean on for support when needed.

There are eight overall levels to the Herald’s Guild divided into two groups of four:

Herald’s Guild Heroes (Level 1-4):

DMs of these levels make up the vast majority of membership. From the newly registered DM (Lvl 1) to DMs with 3-4+ years of experience running special events at huge shows (Lvl 4). These are the DMs at your local shows, the ones helping marshal out tables, and the ones sitting at HQ answering your questions. 95-98% of DMs will reside in these ranks. If you are a Level 4 DM, you should be secure in knowing you are one of the best at running public games of D&D and serving as an advocate for our hobby.
